Italian sports apparel brand founded in 1959 by the Italian tailor, Leonardo Servadio.
ellesse, which is today owned by the family-run Pentland Group, is an Italian sports apparel brand founded in 1959 by the Italian tailor, Leonardo Servadio. Fusing his passion for skiing and tennis with a flair for couture, ellesse created the first ever skiwear and tennis collection that looked as good as they felt, designed to fit as well as they performed.
Leonardo Servadio branded his work with his initials LS, which then evolved into ‘ellesse’ and a pioneering concept was born; exclusive, performance-led sportswear, tailored to precision with genuine Italian flair.
A number of sports celebrities have previously endorsed the brand, such as Chris Evert, Boris Becker & Anna Kournikova. Currently, the brand sponsors tennis star Cameron Norrie, fitness guru Lucy Mecklenburgh, and has recently partnered with music artist Anne-Marie and MTV presenter, Becca Dudley to promote the ladies heritage collection.
