Celebrating 90 years of the Agatha Christie classic 'The Seven Dials Mystery'

We are celebrating 90 years of Agatha Christie’s iconic novel ‘The Seven Dials Mystery’ on 24th January 2019. In celebration of the famous book set within our unique London destination, we will launch a secret book trail, where shoppers are invited to discover one of the 90 books hidden within the area to pick up and keep for free... keep reading to find the clues...

With Seven Dials playing an important part in the novel, British artist Iona Rowland created an exclusive public work of art which is being exhibited on our billboard on Shorts Gardens.

The dramatic large-scale artwork draws influence from and features the legendary author, while incorporating the contemporary yet colourful characteristics Rowland is renowned for. The artist's exclusive print will be on display until Spring 2019 and then auctioned for a charity partner.

For those lucky enough to discover one of the 90 books hidden within Seven Dials, an extra reward for detective work will be a Seven Dials book mark, which has been designed exclusively to celebrate this very special publishing anniversary and placed within each book.

An exclusive quote from...

James Prichard (Chairman and CEO of Agatha Christie Limited, and Agatha Christie’s Great Grandson)
“The Seven Dials Mystery was one of my Great Grandmother’s early thrillers, involving a mysterious gang who hold secret meetings in the Seven Dials Club. Her female protagonist, Eileen “Bundle” Brent, is one of the more colourful characters that she imagined, and Christie’s own sense of adventure comes across in her creation. 90 years on and it’s wonderful to see both the novel, and my Great Grandmother, honoured in this way in the lead up to International Women’s Day – in a Seven Dials that is very different to the way it was in 1929!”

Brands in the area taking part in the celebration are listed below:
