Discover our seven floral installations celebrating the end of lockdown!

This summer we’ve teamed up with floral design experts and social enterprise group, Urban Growth London, and volunteers from Young Camden Foundation to create and install Seven Dials In Bloom –  floral creations made from reused and repurposed items like an old suitcase, theatre seats, and even a piano. Yes, really!

To highlight the experiences we’ve missed through lockdown, we’ve transformed everyday objects into beautiful, botanical beings showcasing the very best of London.  An old piano has been transformed into a colourful eco-art installation as an homage to bringing live music back to our streets. The second attraction features old theatre chairs with their seats turned into vibrant planters, celebrating the reopening of London’s theatre scene once again. The third installation, featuring an old sofa, celebrates friendship, reuniting, and socialising once again with the furniture turned into into a beautiful, flourishing art piece!

The second-hand dresser represents the renewed freedom found by going out, while the suitcase pays tribute to the holidays missed with vintage luggage bags also transformed. To celebrate our great pubs opening once again, four metal beer kegs will now host beautiful beds of flowers and a bespoke indoor window display, featuring a golden art frame, surrounded by dried wild summer flowers celebrates the reopening of London’s great art galleries.

The Young Camden Foundation is a leader in supporting its members by working with a range of organisations to develop new and unique approaches to supporting the younger generation.  More than 1,400 local young people were directly impacted by Young Camden Foundation’s grant-giving programmes during the summer of 2020 – these helped to address longstanding and complex issues, such as digital poverty, youth safety, and mental health.

As lockdown restrictions ease, we are very proud to be re-engaging young individuals with the local community and welcoming participation in social projects that reach beyond the classroom. A tap donation point will be on site for those who would like to donate £3 to the Young Camden Foundation.
