This month, Seven Dials will be welcoming Ceri Hand Gallery to the area – an exclusive exhibition space curated by influential artist Ceri Hand.
The Project Space in Seven Dials will be the first time the gallery has exhibited its work in the capital and will serve as a space to provide a taste of things to come in advance of the Ceri Hand Gallery launching a permanent gallery in central London later this year.
Since its launch in 2008, the gallery and artists have attracted huge international interest, with their collector base extending across the UK and works being placed in key private and public museums in London, including the Zabludowicz Collection, the Arts Council Collection and the Government Art Collection.
Opening its doors in Seven Dials on July 13th, the Project Space will focus on conceptual and performance art, producing and exhibiting new works on and offsite including publications, editions and multiples. The gallery will be bringing the same energy, ability and connectedness to Seven Dials, which has led to its every growing success since its conception in Liverpool in 2008.
The Project Space will open with London-based artist Mel Brimfield’s second solo exhibition ‘Between Genius and Desire’, showcasing between 13th July -18th August, which sets out to explore the enduring romantic image of the heroic artist as a conduit of violent creative passion.
Throughout its residency in Seven Dials, visitors can expect to see a diverse range of exhibitions from influential artists including, S Mark Gubb, Bedwyr Williams and Eleanor Moreton.
To coincide with the gallery launch, this month we are offering 10 lucky winners the chance to own a signed copy of Mel Brimfield’s book: This Is Performance Art. To enter, visit the Seven Dials Facebook page.
