LUTA Clothing, the favela-inspired urban fightwear and street apparel brand, has teamed up with the community news portal Viva Favela of Rio de Janeiro to bring The Fighter Within exhibition exclusively to Seven Dials. The exhibition, opening on September 3rd, features 12 powerful images that showcase the everyday struggles of life in the favela, captured by the community reporters that live there.
Giving an insider’s insight into life in the favela, the exhibition highlights the real strength shown by people living there and touches on issues close to the heart of LUTA, which is rooted in the Luta Pela Paz boxing club in the in the Complexo da Maré favela. In Brazilian Portuguese the word “luta” means to fight, to struggle, to never give up. This real strength needed to face life’s adversities is the inspiration behind LUTA, and is captured by The Fighter Within collection.
In addition to the exhibition, visit the store in the Thomas Neal Centre for LUTA Clothing, which is available across three ranges - urban streetwear, performance trainingwear and the hi-tech LUTA PRO fightwear range - designed by fighters, for fighters.
