Today marks the beginning of the highly-anticipated, London Cocktail Week – a celebration of our modern golden age of cocktails. Over two hundred of the city's best bars, including Detroit on Earlham Street, will be opening their doors to host a series of quirky cocktail tours designed to give you a taste of London’s elusive cocktail scene.
Renowned as one of London’s trendiest underground bars, Detroit is the perfect setting to enjoy an old-school cocktail with a twist. True to their reputation, this week their signature cocktail in celebrating the London’s Cocktail Week is a vibrant, vodka-based ‘Caliente’ with blood-orange. Spanish tapas bar Pix on Neal Street also offers a great selection of cocktail favourites in chic surroundings. For something more contemporary, why not try the new cocktail menu at The Mercer Street Hotel? Inspired by fruit, flowers and spices their recipes will provide cocktail-lovers with a true taste of the West-End.
An extensive menu of champagne cocktails alongside classics such as the zesty Mojito can be found at The Crazy Bear with and an in-house pianist to entertain on selected nights. Or for those who like to be in the know, we recommend a visit to the Covent Garden Hotel for an exclusive off-the menu ‘Seven Dials’ martini. A delicious combination of gin, southern comfort and sweet fruit juices, this delicious cocktail is available exclusively on request - the perfect indulgence this London Cocktail Week.
To round off the celebrations in style, don’t forget to stop off at Hendrick’s ‘Unusual Umbrella Emporium’ pop-up on Monmouth Street. A homage to the eccentric inventor of infamous cocktail umbrella, Hendrick’s will be serving a range of gin-based cocktails and hosting a series of extraordinary events including a gin-in literature evening until October 16th. Find out more about the pop-up HERE.
