This autumn, the newly renovated Mercer Street Hotel in Seven Dials pays homage to Roald Dahl's 'Matilda' with a Stupendous Afternoon Tea, where theatre-goers can enjoy pre-show afternoon tea before taking their seats for Matilda the Musical in The Cambridge Theatre.
Located opposite the Seven Dials monument, The Mercer Street Hotel - formerly known as the The Mountbatten Hotel, has just undergone an extensive makeover, transforming it into a luxury retreat just moments away from the best shopping, theatre and restaurants that Seven Dials has to offer.
Boasting 137 new bedrooms equipped with the most up-to-date Apple TV technology, and eight suites with stunning views over Seven Dials, the Mercer Street Hotel is one of the most chic and stylish hotels in the heart of Covent Garden's village.
To celebrate the re-opening, the hotel's modern bar and restaurant, the Dial Bar, will be offering pre-show afternoon tea, themed around Matilda the Musical which is opening across the road at the Cambridge Theatre. Served daily from 2pm- 5pm, Matilda Afternoon Tea will bring out the sweet tooth in you whatever your age, with tea-time treats such as 'Ludicrously lovely lemon loaf cake' and 'Fantastic fondue' featuring on the menu. Every child will also have the chance to take home a complimentary copy of Roald Dahl's much-loved classic.
