A giant temporary maze has appeared in London’s iconic Trafalgar Square. For five days, from the 2nd – 6th August tourists and Londoners alike can enjoy exploring the 30m x 20m maze wandering through many of the West End’s famous streets.
The maze is part of the campaign by the West End Partnership- to encourage people to get lost in the capital and discover something new.
Each ‘street’ within the maze is named after a renowned area in the UK’s Capital, including Seven Dials, Covent Garden’s ‘hidden’ village. The road signs within the maze highlight fascinating facts about the cultural history of the West End and when you eventually navigate your way to the heart of the maze you’ll be rewarded with an exclusive taste of the amazing entertainment, culture, dining and shopping on offer in the West End.
Monday - see a snippet of some of the West End’s top shows including Pricilla Queen of the Desert, Avenue Q and Sherlock Holmes.
Tuesday - navigate the maze following Chinatown’s giant paper dragon and lion puppets and try your hand at candy making at the centre of the maze.
Wednesday - see London’s Saville Row Tailors trim the maze’s hedges.
Thursday - let the Piatti Strong Quartet’s beautiful music guide you to the heart of the maze.
Friday - get groovy and celebrate Carnaby Street’s swinging 60’s vibe with tribute acts and vespas!
Be prepared to be a-mazed by London’s West End.
